VirtualBox, oriented in its conception both to servers and the Windows desktop, or integrated into other software, is perhaps the only professional virtualization solution distributed on the web completely for free. Among its principle characteristics are: * Modularity: VirtualBox can presume to have a very modular design, with a highly defined programming interface and a solid client-server structure.
* Descriptions in XML of the virtual machine: the configuration options for the virtual machines are always stored in XML, and are independent of the local machines, and of course portable ones.
* It includes special options to improve integration into Windows and Linux.
